| Community links St Crispin's school supports a number of charities. Readathon - Every February the junior children take part in the Readathon. They elect to read 6 books within a 2 week period. The event is usually started by the junior students reading their first book to an infant. They collect sponsorship money for the CLIC Sargent and The Roald Dahl Foundation. The children also enter a story writing competition - most recently 'The best traditional modern day fairy tale'. Macmillan - St. Crispin's join in the 'World's Biggest Coffee Morning' to raise funds for Macmillan and to welcome new parents to the school at the start of the academic year. Operation Christmas Child - Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. This program of Samaritan's Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas. Comic Relief - The children raise money for comic relief by having a 'Non Uniform Day' Think Pink - The children also raise money for a breast cancer charity by having a 'Non Uniform Day' and holding a coffee morning. In addition to this the Choir visit a local 'Old People's Home' to sing Christmas carols. |
